S.
P. Muraleedharan was born in
Thirunalloor, Alleppey distt.,
Kerala to farmer parents. In
school and college, he always
wanted to become a Sportstar
like P.T.Usha, Sachin Tendulkar
etc. He was good in Athletics
and Cricket played in District
and University level. But unfortunately
the circumstances did not allow
him to achieve his dreams. The
dream of achieving something
big in sports always remained
in his heart. Like every Keralite,
he came to Mumbai in search
of job. But his weak Hindi language
proved to be a setback for him
and his search for job was in
vain. Later he got job in leading
Luxury Club, Mumbai as a swimming
pool cleaner. His life was forever
changed from there.His long
distance swimming started from
The Vembanad backwaters in Kerala
in 2001. After this feat, there
was no looking back. His achievements
has inspired many children and
youngsters in Kerala. He has
setup a swimming club in his
village to promote swimming.
Now he is preparing to conquer
two mega events in 2010. I request
you to give him all possible
help and encouragement to achieve
his goal. I wish him all the
best for his future endeavours.
